Bursaries for Students Starting in 2009
Salford University has introduced an entirely new range of bursaries to help new full-time undergraduates starting in 2009. Students that qualify will get up to £1000 each year throughout their course to help with living costs. Unlike a Student Loan, this is money that does not have to be paid back.
The new Bursaries are:
- The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship
paid to new students achieving AAB grade at A Level (or equivalent) - The Salford University Community Bursary
paid to students living in Salford at the time they apply for University - Salford University Subject Bursary
paid to students taking certain science or modern language courses - The Global Placement Bursary
paid for students working or studying abroad as part of their course - The Salford University Bursary
paid to students receiving full Higher Education Maintenance Grant
Qualifying for a Bursary
The Salford Bursaries are assessed on the information you put on your student loan form (PN1 if you are a new student in September 2009 or PR1 if you are a returning student), so there’s no need to apply separately. Just make sure that you tick the consent box so that we can see your financial details. If you do not want a student loan you can fill in the form without requesting any money from the Student Loan Company.
Please note that certain bursaries are only open to students who have not previously had government funding for higher education course.
