Religion
Members of all religious denominations are welcomed at the University of Salford. The University offers a comprehensive provision for faith observance and actively supports our staff and students of faith, or none, within the Salford University community.
There are places of worship and association on campus for Christians & Muslims as well as non-denominational spaces. There is a Christian Chaplaincy in the Chapman Building, and further chaplaincy offices at Allerton and Adelphi Campuses and a multi-faith facility at University House.
Off campus, there are numerous places of worship and association in Greater Manchester for Buddhists, Bahais, Jews, Sikhs, Moslems, Hindus, and numerous Christian denominations. Some of their places of worship are close to the University.
The Student’s Union run a number of faith-based societies. For more details of these societies you can contact the Union on 0161 736 7811.
If you want to know more about other faiths, then you might find the BBC’s online multifaith calendar of interest. For staff, this calendar is also useful for scheduling exams, and setting timetables and understanding a student's wish to observe their faith while studying.
